Realme X7 Transition to 120Hz AMOLED Screen from LCD Screens

The Chinese tech giant Realme has teased an upcoming launch of a new smartphone on their Weibo official account. Earlier the company promises for an announcement and they kept their promise. Realme X7 alongside Realme X7 Pro set to launch on September 1, 2020. The teaser includes an AMOLED screen beside 120Hz refresh rate. Until now, the company had never used any screen apart of LCD panels. The Realme X7 series will be the to feature AMOLED screen from the company. A vague detail of the phone is known to rest feature and specifications are yet to known. The launch is scheduled at 11:30 AM IST on September 1 through an online event.

The reason why opted for AMOLED screens

Recently launched flagship phones like Realme X3 and Realme X3 SuperZoom features LCD screens rather than AMOLED screens. There is a huge difference between these two display technologies. LCD panels are also good but not even close to the AMOLED screen in quality and performance. There is a feature called “Always on display” that is in demand right now. In the LCD display, it had to illuminate all the pixels even black pixels too. On the other hand, AMOLED screens illuminate only those required pixels rest pixels. It translates to save battery and display the back colour really back by turning off these pixels. AMOLED screens are brighter than the LCD screens and it feels buttery smooth while scrolling.

Realme X7 Features (expected)

The Realme X3 was launched with the Snapdragon 855+ SoC. Since the Realme X7 will be the successor of Realme X3 there we could see Snapdragon 865 or 865+ SoC at the helm besides UFS 3.1 storage support. Realme have developed their 125W DashCharging that could there alongside 4300mAh battery. If the 125W DashCharger is not commercially ready then there will be the 65W DashCharging support. In terms of connectivity, sub-6GHz bands will be seen alongside Wi-Fi 6. There are not much info available, we have to wait until September 1 to have a proper view of the device. Till then assume it as an upgrade over the Realme X3.
