Vivo Y20 With Snapdragon 460 Spotted on GeekBench Bags Certifications

In September last year, Vivo had launched Vivo Y19 a budget smartphone in the market. An unnamed model number from Vivo, “VIVO V2027” has spotted on GeekBench. The theories have rated up as it hits the Benchmarking listing alongside SDPPI certification authority. The vague details of the phone have suggested the company reportedly working on the successor of the Vivo Y19. Further, the unnamed device is presumed to be the Vivo Y20 the same had been confirmed in the SDPPI listing. The device has bagged vital certifications, hence the launch of the phone is around the near corner. Apart from existence, no further specifications of the device had revealed.

GeekBench platform did not reveal that much about the processor we need to know until deep digging. A tipster dug further in the source code and had found the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 460 under the hood. The SoC combines 4X1.8GHz & 4X1.6GHz CPUs alongside Adreno 610 GPU. Qualcomm had announced the Snapdragon 460 SoC earlier this year back in January. And said that the SoC will hit in the market fall 2020. Following the launch of the Vivo Y19, it took place in September 2019. Thus, the successor of the phone is expected to arrive before the end of this year.

What to expect from Vivo Y20

While comparing the phone with the Vivo Y19 I found it was a downgrade rather than an upgrade. The Y19 was announced with Helio P65 SoC, which combines 2×2.0 GHz Cortex-A75 & 6×1.7 GHz Cortex-A55 CPUs alongside Mali-G52 MC2 GPU. That is relatively faster than the Snapdragon 460. Helio P65 had scored 365 on a single-core while the Snapdragon 460 had scored 252 on a single-core. The Snapdragon 460 has only one advantage over Helio P65 which is the Wi-Fi 6 ready features. Let’s have a brief encounter with Vivo Y19 so that we can have an idea of what to expect from the Vivo Y20.
