Xiaomi Redmi 9A Set to Launch in India on September 2 with Helio G25
In the last week, Xiaomi had launched the Redmi 9 into the country. Now the company is gearing up for the another Redmi 9 member into the family debut as the Xiaomi Redmi 9A. Including this, the Redmi 9 family grows to the 6 members now, one of the biggest series in the mobile phone industry. The last Redmi 9 was the vanilla version but different than the global Redmi 9 version. The global Redmi 9 was already in the country debuted as the Redmi 9 Prime, despite this the company brought Indian version of Redmi 9. That resembles the design of Redmi 9C which was launched in the Malaysian market. But which headed to the Indian market is totally different than the Malaysian Redmi 9C.
Similarly, the Redmi 9A was launched in the Malaysian market back on June 30 this year. Xiaomi India had not shared any further details but the existence of the device alongside the launch date. Redmi 9A is heading to India and this will be an entry-level smartphone. So there will be hardly any tweaks from the Malaysian Redmi 9A version. However, the storage configuration and the battery size matters the most in this category.
Xiaomi Redmi 9A Features and Specs
Upfront, the device is built around an HD+ resolution LCD display of size 6.53″ inch while keeping the waterdrop notch like the predecessor. Underneath the notch, there you have a 5MP selfie camera sensor. Around the back, there is a single camera sensor of 13MP accompanied by an LED flash.
Under the hood, there you have MediaTek Helio G25 SoC. Which combines 8XCortex-A53 at 2.0GHz fabricated in the 12nm process. Further, it bundled with IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU and 2GB RAM alongside the 32GB onboard storage. The Indian version could arrive with a different storage configuration much like 3GB + 64GB, that yet to be confirmed. The system on the device is running on MIUI 11 on the top of Android 10 while it gets fuel from a 5000mAh battery.
Connectivity-wise the phone has 4G LTE connectivity alongside Wi-Fi. The other connectivity could include USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth 5.0 and other required sensors including GPS, Ambient light sensor etc.
Price and availability
The predecessor is selling at ₹6,999 for the 2GB-32GB model. The successor Redmi 9A could be priced around that in-between ₹7000 to ₹8000. The company will launch the phone on September 2 and will go on sale on September 4. The Malaysian Redmi 9A comes in a single storage variant 2GB-32GB. While it has three colour options to choose from Granite Gray, Sky Blue, and the Peacock Green.
